“Disaster management plan effective”

The disaster management plan being implemented across the country has been effective in putting in place appropriate precautionary measures, said Maj. Gen. V.K. Datta, advisor to the National Disaster Management Authority.
Addressing officials of various departments here on Wednesday, he said all departments should be fully prepared to meet any eventuality.
Boats should be kept ready for shifting people from water-logged and marooned areas. A coordinated effort by various departments should be evolved and implemented.
